Another track day on the Ice.
Well, after 2 weekends on a row, we are starting
to master the fine art of sliding on ice. Long slides on 3'rd gear
are common, but as the skill increases, the speed also rises. This
leads us to the fact, that when all fails out, it does so in a bigger
way than before. This weekend cost me a torn up bumper, and a couple
of fog lights. "I was going to remove them anyway, ehh "
didn't trick anyone into believing it was intentional. But, it was
a lot of fun, and the price paid for it, couldn't keep the grin
of my face.
Turn up is increasing, and we saw some really nutty
guys from Trondheim coming down for some action. 3 GT-Rs drove 800
km(both ways) to get here, and another 3 GT-Rs joined them on the
ice. There was also 1 GTX. Most guys was on studless. This worked
fine the last time, but since the temperature drop from about -4
to -12 from last weekend to this weekend, the track got ALOT more
slippery. It made for some serious get-offs, and fine action. We
caught some of it on tape, and we will put it on the web for you
to download.
Next weekend it's racing time for me (-on 2 wheels),
but I got Sunday off, so I'll try and make it up on the ice again.
I am going to get studds though, cos I realize it's the way to go
for higher speeds, and more action.
